In December we had the opportunity to have a puppy….Turkey, come by more than once. It was a great experience for me b/c it reminded me how important it is for puppies to expand their mobility skills. When Turk first came over he couldn’t climb on any couches and really struggled to keep up with the other dogs but by the time he left, 10 days later, he was a pro! When he came back after hanging in the shelter for a couple of weeks, he had to relearn how to get back up on things and maneuver his way through obstacles. I spend a lot of time reminding people how important puppy socializing is…but also important is allowing them to explore and expand their motor skills.
